The game of chess has been reinvented in just about every medium imaginable, and while this isn't the first time it has been brought to a digital screen, Chess 3D is a very polished and well put together rendition of the classic game. You can play against the computer, a friend... or yourself for that matter. In the case of playing against the computer, various options are available, such as changing the difficulty level, or setting the time allowed for the computer to think about its next move. Visually, the chess board and pieces are very nicely rendered, however there is little more look at. The board sits in front of a featureless green background. This game really is all about the chess; no distractions.

Chess 3D is a solid chess game that should scratch that chess itch on any player. It's a no thrills experience, however, so if you're looking for an interesting twist on the classic game, or stunning visuals, this may not be the game for you. However it is well made and a solid game play experience.
